In the wake of the recent pandemic, like many creatives, Mariko Kumon was forced to experiment with new forms of expression. In her case, it all started with the scarcity of materials to make sculpture. As there were no specialized stores open, the artist forced herself daily to give free rein to her emotions with the only thing she had available, pencil and paper.

Disturbed by the global health crisis, she tried to resist expressing anger, sadness or depression. Instead, she reflected the most honest state of her frustration and helplessness at not being able to act. Finally, she managed to capture her feelings in the drawings.She gradually shared them on her social networks, the reactions gave her the feeling that she was penetrating the depths of minds. In the end she managed to make 200 drawings of which she exhibits 120 at Artevistas gallery.

A raíz de la reciente pandemia, como muchos creativos, Mariko Kumon se vio obligada a experimentar con nuevas formas de expresión. En su caso, todo empezó por la escasez de materiales para realizar la escultura. Como no había tiendas especializadas abiertas, la artista se obligaba a diario a dar rienda suelta a sus emociones con lo único que tenía a mano, lápiz y papel.

Preocupada por la crisis sanitaria mundial, intentó resistirse a expresar enfado, tristeza o depresión. En cambio, reflejó el estado más honesto de su frustración e impotencia por no poder actuar. Finalmente logró plasmar sus sentimientos en los dibujos. Poco a poco los fue compartiendo en sus redes sociales, las reacciones le daban la sensación de que estaba penetrando en lo más profundo de las mentes. Al final logró realizar 200 dibujos de los cuales expone 120 en la galería Artevistas.
