“Artonaut #17 is part of Mark Rox’s Artonaut series, integrating urban visual language with space-related iconography. The work is executed in UV acrylic and phosphor pigments, activating under variable lighting conditions. An augmented reality layer extends the composition beyond the physical surface. The painting addresses the conceptual premise that children do not fly into space, using space as a metaphor for aspirational constructs formed in childhood. The adult figure signifies responsibility and lived experience, while the child represents imagination and potential. Through light-reactive materials and AR activation, the work articulates the transformation of early aspirations over time.”
