“Trash Pile” is one of Mark Rox’s early works exploring the central theme of the exhibition. Inspired by photographs of real locations and accumulated waste, the painting transforms an ordinary rubbish pile into a dense and overwhelming visual landscape. The work reflects Rox’s signature style, in which objects and details fill the entire canvas, dissolving into a continuous pattern with almost no empty space. Completed in 2025 after more than a year of work, Trash questions our relationship with waste and the traces we leave behind. Can rubbish, when transformed through art, become beautiful? Or does it remain disturbing and unwanted?.Through this work, Rox explores the fragile boundary between beauty and repulsion, art and everyday waste.
