“Car Garbage Pile” continues Mark Rox’s exploration of overproduction, consumption and the material trace we leave behind. A towering accumulation of abandoned vehicles becomes a monument to technological progress that has outlived its purpose. Echoing ideas first explored in Trash, the work reflects on the approaching disappearance of petrol-powered cars and the vast automobile graveyards this transition may create. Once a symbol of freedom and modernity, the car is transformed here into waste, a reminder that every new era inevitably leaves the remains of the previous one behind.
