In “Jewelry”, Mark Rox transforms pearls, gemstones and precious ornaments into a dense, hypnotic pattern. Individual objects dissolve into an elaborate visual rhythm, where colour, brilliance and repetition create a sense of limitless abundance. Created for the Trash & Beauty exhibition, the painting deliberately contrasts with Trash and Trash Pile. Together, the works explore the unstable boundary between value and worthlessness, luxury and excess, beauty and waste. The artwork is completed by an original sculptural frame, 3D-printed and hand-inlaid with glass rubies and decorative stones. The frame becomes an extension of the painting itself, intensifying its atmosphere of splendour, ornamentation and material desire.
